Why Sessions Are Different
A session page has to work while practice is happening. Drill detail pages can go deeper, but the session itself needs the setup, steps, and cues on the page so the adult is watching the child, not opening tabs.
First Session Focus
Start with U8 passing when accuracy is the problem, first touch when receiving keeps breaking down, or weak foot when the child avoids one side. Each session keeps the drill details inline so practice can run from one page.
Start With This Route
If this page feels like a menu, use this order first. Keep each block short, then open the drill card when you need the full setup, cues, and easier or harder version.
| Order | Drill | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| Start here | Wall Pass And Move | A wall passing drill that teaches an 8-year-old to pass, move, and control the rebound with the first touch. Start by: Stand 2-4 metres from a safe wall or rebound surface. |
| Then add | Gate Passing Football Drill for Kids: Aim and Weight | This gate passing football drill for kids gives every pass a visible target. Use it to help a child judge direction and weight, receive under control, and recover from a miss without turning practice into a test. Start by: Walk the lane without a ball. Check that both players can stop safely and that an overhit pass will finish in clear space. |
| If it fits | First Touch Box | A small-box control drill that helps kids cushion the ball and move their first touch into space. Start by: Make a small square with four markers. |
| Finish with | Receive Across The Body | A receiving drill that teaches players to take the ball away from pressure and into the next action. Start by: Start side-on to the feeder with the nearest foot ready to receive. |
| Keep for later | Weak Foot Wall Passes | A gentle weak-foot routine that builds confidence without asking a child to kick hard or far. Start by: Stand close to the wall with the weaker foot ready. |
