Wall Chest Passes

A wall passing drill that helps kids step, pass, catch, and reset without needing a partner.

How to set it up

Step toward the wall, make a chest pass, catch with two hands, and reset the feet before repeating.

Setup

One basketball and safe wall. Use driveway or court wall and keep the area safe before starting.

Steps

  1. Stand 2-3 metres from the wall.
  2. Step toward the wall and make a chest pass.
  3. Catch the rebound with two hands.
  4. Reset the feet before the next pass.

Coaching points

  • Thumbs finish down.
  • Step toward the target.
  • Catch before moving again.

Common mistakes

  • Throwing from the shoulders only.
  • Letting the catch pull the body forward.

Next practice

Pick one short session. Stop while the child still wants another turn.
