Three players pass around the triangle and follow the ball to the next point so the shape keeps moving.
Setup
Place three markers in a triangle with five to eight metres between them. One player starts at each point and follows the pass to the next point.
Steps
- Pass across the triangle with the inside of the foot.
- Move to follow the pass immediately.
- Receive with the body open to the next point.
- Play the next pass with no extra touch when ready.
- Reverse the direction after two minutes.
Coaching points
- Check the next player before receiving.
- Pass to the correct foot.
- Move after the ball travels.
- Keep the triangle wide enough for a clear picture.
Common mistakes
- Standing on the marker after passing.
- Passing behind the receiver.
- Closing the triangle too much.
- Chasing one-touch speed before the shape is reliable.
Make it easier
Allow two touches and shorten the triangle.
Make it harder
Add a defender in the middle or limit the receiving player to two touches.
How to know it is working
The ball moves around the triangle while players arrive at the next point before the ball does.
Safety
Use a clear surface and keep the central defender passive at first.
