Make Fun Specific
A fun drill should still teach one thing. Cone Tap Dribble Race teaches control and stopping. Wall Chest Passes can become a target game. Jump Stop Freeze can become a clean-stop challenge.
Use Short Rounds
Kids stay more engaged when games are short and clear. Use 60- to 90-second rounds, then change the target, hand, or score.
Score The Right Behaviour
Give points for a controlled freeze, a weak-hand attempt, or a pass caught in balance. This keeps the game aligned with the skill.
Avoid Chaos
Fun does not mean uncontrolled. Keep the area small, use one ball per player where possible, and slow the game when the child starts chasing the ball.
Good Finisher
End with a challenge the child can complete: five controlled bounces, a marker tap, and one clean jump stop.
