Football Dribbling Drills

Football dribbling drills for close control, changes of direction, speed changes, and attacking space with confidence.

Control Before Speed

The ball should stay close enough for the player to change the next action. Small touches are useful when space is tight; longer touches become useful when the player has a clear lane.

Practise The Change

A dribble becomes useful when the player can slow down, turn, and accelerate away. Gates and channels make that change easier to see and repeat.

Connect Dribbling To A Decision

After control is steady, add a defender, a target, or two possible exits. The goal is not a catalogue of tricks; it is a player who can recognise space and act on it.
